Our Mission

An architectural rendering of a modern brick residential building with arched entrances, surrounded by trees with autumn leaves, flower beds, and a landscaped courtyard with people sitting and standing.

The on-going pressure on the housing sector has spurred an interest in alternative housing models that take into account different ways of living together.

At SHA we believe that this presents an opportunity to critically examine the way we create sustainable and community focussed accommodation. Our work in this sector looks at delivering financially viable schemes that place community and communal living at its centre.

The Climate Change Emergency requires sustainability focussed solutions but also human centric ones. The quality of social space is as important as sustainability. Architecture must serve both needs.

Housing done right has the potential to enrich our day to day lives in a meaningful way by providing spaces that encourage people to share experiences, ideas and cultures.

We believe that architecture can help and support families, communities and individuals interact, understand and get along with each other.

Modern interior living space with exposed brick walls, large windows, wooden accents, and contemporary furniture including a white armchair and a tan leather sofa. There are people sitting and walking in the space.

We do this by designing spaces that create opportunities for social interaction.

We see co-living as one of the tools that helps provide a more sustainable and ultimately a more enjoyable rental experience. Co-living, can provide many more rental places but with a greater satisfaction. The headaches of renting are removed and the sense of living in a well-managed, intentional community comes to the fore.
